Westminster Canterbury Child Development Center is a fully inclusive preschool and before/after school program, designed to meet the individual growth and developmental needs of each child, including children with special needs. Positive experiences are provided in a warm, secure, and loving environment that enhances social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. Classrooms are divided into several learning centers to promote a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and experiences. Our main focus is to provide opportunities for children to develop critical thinking skills and an enthusiasm for learning. Licensed by the state of Virginia and NAEYC accredited, our Child Development Center offers:
Caring Professionals – nurture your child's self-confidence, creativity and curiosity. Also trained and certified in Infant and Child CPR, and Pediatric First Aid, for your child’s safety.
Intergenerational Environment – offering special opportunities for your child to interact with older adults in a variety of planned and spontaneous engagements.
Inclusion Program – provides extra support to create a positive learning environment for children/families with special needs.
Creative Programs – designed to meet the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of your child through creative, stimulating and varied learning opportunities.
Nutritious Snacks & Meals – include morning and afternoon snacks, and lunch.
Opportunities to Share – your thoughts and ideas. The Parent/Staff Advisory Committee gives valuable assistance in many areas. We welcome participation and feedback regarding your child care experience at Westminster Canterbury.
